2009 what would have been Frankie Manning's 95th Birthday was celebrated by thousands of lindy hoppers from all reaches of the world in NYC. HSDS was a proud organizer for this huge undertaking. The crowning event to the festivities was a full theatrical show of Frankies life, culminating in a recreation of one of the most spectacular lindy hop routines caught on film, Hellzapoppin' (1941) with Frankie Manning as lead choreographer. Several highly acclaimed dancers recreated this routine as a special gift to Frankie. We know in our hearts he was swinging out with us on that night! HSDS and Brian Grady are proud to release the footage from this routine.
